MitoQ® - Joint - 60 capsules
MitoQ® – Joint – Mitoquinol Mesylate
MitoQ® Joint is an innovative coenzyme Q10 supplement featuring patented Mitoquinol Mesylate as its main component. Developed by MitoQ® after years of research, this molecule is a shortened, positively charged form of coenzyme Q10. This formula combines it with green-lipped mussel oil extract. Research suggests that green-lipped mussel can contribute to joint flexibility*. The unique combination of MitoQ® and green-lipped mussel extract makes this product unique worldwide.
What is coenzyme Q10?
Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found in all cells. Organs with high energy requirements, such as the heart, pancreas, liver, kidneys, immune system, nervous system, and muscles, contain relatively high levels of Q10. The substance was discovered in 1957 by Dr. Frederick Crane, who isolated it from the mitochondria of a beef heart. The name "Q10" refers to the English word "ubiquitous," meaning "omnipresent." Q10 is found in both animal and plant foods, such as organ meats, poultry, nuts, spinach, broccoli, and oily fish.
Green-lipped mussel extract and MitoQ
The ocean provides countless unique substances, including those from the green-lipped mussel. MitoQ® Joint is the only supplement that combines Mitoquinol Mesylate with oil extract from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus). The fatty acids from this mussel are purified and concentrated through a careful production process.

History of green-lipped mussel
The Maori of New Zealand have eaten green-lipped mussels for centuries as a staple in their diet, attributing them to their good health. In the 1960s, Western researchers also discovered the mussel during their search for bioactive compounds in the sea. Since then, the physiological effects and the natural components of green-lipped mussels have been extensively studied.
About Mitoquinol Mesylate
Mitoquinol Mesylate is the core of all MitoQ® products. It is a shortened and positively charged form of coenzyme Q10, created by the addition of a lipophilic cation (tetraphenylphosphonium). This modification allows the substance to cross cell membranes and reach the mitochondria. This patented technology combines ubiquinol, the active form of Q10, with the tetraphenylphosphonium group.
The evolution of mitochondria
Mitochondria are now part of our cells, but were likely once independent bacteria. Through evolution, they have formed a symbiosis with our cells and become the body's powerhouses. They have been crucial for the development of complex life forms. Mitochondria have their own DNA, possess two membranes, and function according to quantum mechanical principles. They also produce metabolic water and emit weak infrared light (biophotons).
About MitoQ®
MitoQ® is a New Zealand company focused on developing the patented molecule Mitoquinol Mesylate. It was discovered by researchers studying substances that influence mitochondria. After more than ten years of research, this product is available worldwide. The success of MitoQ® lies in its unique adaptation that allows it to deliver the most active form of coenzyme Q10. In addition to capsules, MitoQ® also develops creams based on the same technology.
